6 CHEESETARTS IN JAKARTA THAT CHEESE LOVER SHOULD TRY!

Cheese tarts has become Jakarta’s recent phenomenon, it’s proven by the long queue at certain store. It has stolen our hearts with those creamy cheese fillings which sit pretty on a crunchy buttery base. Besides its tiny shape and good baked looks, how can we resist to see and feel the cheese melts in the mouth when we bite them?

Here is a list of the 6 Cheese tarts in Jakarta that you should try.

#1 PABLO CHEESETART
Originated from Japan. Since they opened their branch in Jakarta last 17 November 2016 – the place has been always busy and has a long line up. We still heard the buzz until now,so be prepared for the queue. Their signature menu is their baked cheese tart. The original cheesetart covered by a flaky yet crunchy puff pastry and filled with cheese cream/filling that has smooth and delicate texture. Not too runny yet not too thick. Glazed by apricot jam. Overall, it has more sweetness and sour taste. Oh, we ordered the regular size and haven't tried their mini cheesetart.

Price range: Mini cheese tart (IDR 35.000-50.000), regular cheese tart (IDR 169.000-189.000)
Address:
Gandaria City Mall UG Floor, Jl. Sultan Iskandar Muda, South Jakarta.

THE REGULAR CHEESETART
#2 HOKKAIDO BAKEDCHEESETART
Another cheese tart parlor that definitely worth to try. We didn’t see long queue line in front of the store, but when we ordered, the guy will let you know approximately on how many minutes you will be able to get your tart. Ours was half an hour.

Famous from its origin, Hokkaido, Japan – every tart is baked fresh in the outlet. What we love from it was; the great texture of the short crust pastry based combine with the not so runny cream cheese fillings, so yum! The pastry is crispy and had an appropriate thickness. The fillings not too salty yet not to sweet, just perfect. No doubt, one piece is never enough.

Price: IDR 20.000/piece

#3 HOKKAIDO BABY
I think this is the first Japanese Cheese Tart that come to Jakarta, around early 2016. Started from online and pop up stores, now they already have permanent store at Pondok Indah Mall. Compared to another brand, theirs are slightly smaller in size. They have flaky pie crust with very molten filling. The texture is runny and might be a little mess while you eat them. I tried the chocolate cheese tart before, it’s just a great combination between cheese & chocolate.

Price: IDR 20.000/pc
Address:
Pondok Indah Mall 1, 2nd floor #17, Jl. Metro Pondok Indah, Jakarta

#4 CHEESESS
Cheesess has own shop at Jl. Ciniru, KebayoranBaru, however we bought their tart at their branch in Kota Kasblanka mall.
The shortcrust pastry has more thickness compare to the others on this list. The filling texture was not so runny as well, but it has more cheese and milky flavor. You may still be able to felt the cheese taste even after you ate the whole thing.

Price: IDR 15.000/pc
Address:
Kota Kasablanka Mall LG Floor, Jl. Casblanca Raya Kav. 88

They call the cheese tart here, the Cheese Bomb. Came out with lots of option for different flavor like Nuttela, lemon yuzu, matcha, caramel, ovomaltine, oreo, espresso, tiramisu, blueberry and earl grey. We haven’t got any chance to visit this due to the area, however if you were in the area – this is an option to go to for cheese craving.

#6 ROPPAN / BREADTALK
Cheese tart truly in right now, till our local brand Roppan & BreadTalk following the trend by launching their own creation on this December 2016. You need to wait 15 mins to get it, because they said it’s made by order so you’ll always get the hot one as it’s just come out from the oven. Since both of the brand are in the same company, so their Japanese cheese tart have the same exactly recipe and price (we know, we checked it with the staff, hahahaha). The crust is very light of crunch with flaky texture. It will break just when you lift it up (don’t know is it good or bad). And their filling almost the same texture with Hokkaido Baby, molten. But for us, the overall taste is just too sweet.

Price: IDR 20.000/pc

Personal opinion: With comparison of similar cheesetart, Hokkaido Baked Cheesetart is the Best among all!
